Sorry for everyone who care about this project… havent posted any stuff for a long time. Since, i have being written academic report for long time. The first draft was completed by 28 of May. the 2nd draft was due last Friday. now is coming to 3nd draft almost the final one..
During the whole proofreading stage. i’d like to thank too many people.. Thx ZY, Drshoe for spending time reading my poor 1st draft.
Thx Amy’s suggestions and Grammar help on Research part..
Thx my dear supervisor -Ryan’s generous help.. i knew you spend lots of time (15hr+)reading and proofreading my 2nd draft and all ur suggestions are quite significant for the final outcome.. :O Thx so much and sorry for ruining your sleeping time and nice Friday..:P

somekinds of Testing

I have done the 1st draft last week, i basically got 17K words and includes lots of stuff in this project.
Since the project due was 10th of June. i am waiting for my dear supervisor’s suggestion and wish he has a good weekends plus Queen’s birthday holiday.
On other hand, i am doing some kinds of testing for my web application, i am running the project on different the internet browsers. Chrome, Firefox, IE and Opera…. The output is quite different.
Since, i am doing most of web application on Chrome and Firefox, they didnt have too much troubles in the specific case.
Then, i tried to run it on IE7 and IE8 .some layouts outputs were different, and some javascript even cannot work. The Login View controls also doesnt work on IE and Opera firstly. After googling the solutions Some one met the same problem with mine. It turned out to be there are Two in the HTML file .. the IE cannot recognize them if they over 2 there.. But Chrome and FireFox could… Wired

Sorry for havnt update blog for a while.. Since, i am busy writting my academic report, that comes out to be 15k words now.:P, so, i have been quite lazy that why havent put anyting userful in this blog..

Some stuff i am playing with:

adding favicon to iworld application … very simple

A favicon (short for favorite icon, sometimes understood as favorites icon), also known as a website icon, shortcut icon, url icon, or bookmark icon is a 16×16 pixel square icon associated with a particular website or webpage.^[1] A web designer can create such an icon and install it into a website (or webpage) by several means, and most graphical web browsers will then make use of it. Browsers that provide favicon support typically display a page’s favicon in the browser’s Address bar and next to the page’s name in a list of bookmarks. Browsers that support a tabbed document interface typically show a page’s favicon next to the page’s title on the tab. The Microsoft Windows Shell also uses favicons to represent “Internet shortcuts” to web pages.

Quota and Comment error

If you receive this error, then your application has exceeded

our current limits on API calls. We recommend that you wait a few minutes and then

try your request again.

too_many_entries – This code indicates that the user is attempting to exceed a

storage limit on his account and must delete existing entries before inserting new

entries. For this type of error, the tag identifies the feed that caused the

error.

So, basically, if u have been a authenticated through iworld, you have to wait few

mins to post another one, otherwise it may occur the Error problem.

i met those problems encountering with posting comments to YouTube.

The symptom is:

Once done the authentication stage, and redirect to the iworld application page,

then, if trying to post comments too often, such as within few seconds, it shows

the Error message:

yt:quota

too_many_recent_calls

Being go through the APIs Forms and developers team, the Errors is due to the APIs

quota limited.

The solution in YouTube APIs guideline:

A quota error, which is identified by a tag value of yt:quota, identifies a problem related to irregular API usage.

For quota errors, the tag will contain one of the following values:

Reporting and YouTube Comments

havent been put up stuff 4 a while. since i havnt been doin some kinda of report written and keep doing it, The report writing going slowly, cause im not very good at construct report anyway. I haven been written some Research parts of YouTube platform, and i found out a interesting function provided by YouTube & Google called “Interactive YouTube API Demo Beta” it more likely a API playground which is great similar to facebook API Testing platform.

Here, i had a look and collected all the functions which can be applied by YouTube APIs, includes generally, search video entries, (standard feeds, keywords…) and authentication advanced operation(rating, add comments,uploading, using community features)

And, The comments adding stuff i cant apply into my iworld application before, since the code in .Net guild Line shows request.Addcomment(Video v, Comment c). since, i only using querystring to transfer the vid to display.aspx page, cant actually formate a Video entry or doing video retrieve again.(These will both slow the performance and make codes much longer and hard to understand)

But on the playground, once, i was done the authentication work, only typing into my vidoeID, and development key, i can add the comments and get 200 successful message.

It proved the theory that you dont actually need to create a Video object to hold all the comments link uri data. there are some other alternative way to handle this stuff.
The request by sending xml to YouTube server is like that:



U can easily find out, the post url=api/xxxx/comments, the auth_token==xxxx, and the content in comments.
But the single fact is, the YouTube guild always give you a complicated way but no good for common usage,(for here, if i using the example listed in Net.Guild, the only time i can add comments, is i retrieve all the videos, get whole brunch of lists… ) which is hard and stupid for user and definitely uneasy to control all the output layouts.

After Analysis the http request and try to come out the same request only contain this easy information, the request.insert() has been finally used to do these work.

request.insert(uri(“gdata/api/video/xxx/comments”), Comment c)..using this way can create a request which similar to the example request i got from that playground. .. and also have the same functionality.

i am starting to write my final report – to some kinds of structure work..

Finding the big heading for things im going to write. however, i found it was really hard to write some official and well structured reports, because a academic report is way different than the blogging stuff. Academic report seems more looking through the words, the article structure and the appropriate referencing, which the blog gives you much more space to write any thing you came across. anyway, by actually writing a academic report, i think i could review the report i have been doing, and trying to dig the more detailed about all different resources.

The Task is not easy… still pull lots of time on that one.:O

Release note 1.3:

done all the function unit using Youtube api;

design some basic layout for the interface ( some people really give lots of good idea though);

willing to Finish the facebook configuration soon…

Hi..there..i am doing the Youtube integration stuff currently.

i have done the search function by standard feeds, and user authentication Authsub. also doing some graphic work.. although, it should be a prototype, but i really wanna put it into public , put on to some web hosts somehow. Lets see can i get enough time and money..

i have been reading GR’s report.. its quite hard to get her work anyway…i wanna try to finish the stuff (implementation phases)as soon as possible, then i will be able to carry on my reports. (more than 10k words   )

i will put on some kinds of screen shot lateron. you will see the graphic and some of the basic layouts..

Release notes 1.2 Beta:

1.done the youtube search functions—standard feeds ( Most viewed, top_rated, most_repsoneds, most_discussed)

2.Done the paging system for searched video

3.Done the subscription feeds binding from a list of your subscripted videos.

4.Doing the Uploading Testing right now…

adding a new function, which user can select a specific user album to upload picture.. instead of only can loading to one single album. Doing this by creating another dictionary class.

Some setting on facebook are quite annoying for instance: In this case, i cant select  and upload the default Profile Pictures album to loading picture. this reason is the Profile Picture are limited and only changed when u update your profile picture on faceboook. 

So, i simply delete the Profile Picture as an option. using a if() statement.

I have been doing the integrated the Google news Feeds functions to my site.

i met the problem seems you cant put this kinda of Updatepannel  in to a LgoinView.. other wise … it always show The TabContainer cant create a object instance for Tab controls.

So, i have to put it out of the Login Video and using code to judge the current user is authenticated user or not..

Im using the another facebook account to testing the generic user operations processes.

And found out one bugs :
one is the facebook Extended permissions: once i agree the iworld application, seems auto login to the facebook home page instead of redirecting to my iworld application.
i found out the next and next_cancel (optional keywords could be helpful for this case)….

The new url i was constructed like::

It means whether user have extended permission or not.. user still can be redirected to iworld application.. Thank god..
